DHAKA, May 24, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman today said his party believed that the election should be held at a comfortable time within the time frame given by the Chief Adviser that does not cause any suffering to the people.

"We have told the Chief Adviser that two things need to be clarified. One is when the election will be held. We believe that the election should be held at a comfortable time within the time frame given by the Chief Adviser that does not cause any inconvenience to the people," he told reporters after a meeting with the Chief Adviser at the state guest house 'Jamuna' here.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "The second thing we have said that before this election, the process of reforms and visible justice must appear before the people. If the election is held without completing the reforms, then the people will not be able to fulfill their expectations in this election. It is not possible for this government to do all the reforms. They have only started to reform five specific issues. They should be resolved satisfactorily those".

He said, "The Chief Adviser has listened patiently to our two roadmaps. We are confident that he has taken the matter positively. The Chief Adviser has only said that the country belongs to all of us. I definitely want to see a meaningful, fair and transparent election".

Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb Ameer and former lawmaker Dr Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher was present at the meeting.
