RAJSHAHI, June 8, 2025 (BSS) - Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) cleared all sacrificial animal waste well before dawn today, following Eid-ul-Azha.

We aimed to complete the cleanup by morning, but it was done much earlier, RCC's Chief Conservancy Officer Sheikh Mamun told BSS here today.

Waste was collected door-to-door by 6:00pm yesterday, transferred to 28 secondary stations, and then moved to the central landfill near the city hat by midnight.

The operation involved 1,394 workers and used 15 hydraulic trucks, six tractors with double trolleys, two stead rollers, two water tanks, and 400 vans across all 30 city wards.

Bleaching powder and disinfectants were applied to eliminate odors and maintain hygiene.

Mamun thanked residents for their cooperation, noting that public awareness has improved significantly.

"Over 95 percent of areas are now clean and odor-free," he said.
