DUCSU election commission formed

DHAKA, June 16, 2025 (BSS)- A 10-member Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) Election Commission has been formed with Professor Dr. Mohammad Jasim Uddin of Botany Department as the Chief Returning Officer.

The committee was formed today at a meeting of the university syndicate, a DU press release said today.

The other members of the Election Commission are Professor Dr. ASM Mohiuddin of the Department of Soil, Water and Environment, Professor Dr. Golam Rabbani of the Institute of Social Welfare and Research, Professor Dr. Kazi Maruful Islam of the Department of Development Studies, Professor Dr. Kazi Mostaq Ghausul Haque of the Department of Information Science and Library Management, Professor Dr. Nasreen Sultana of the Institute of Health Economics, Professor Dr. Shahidul Islam (Shahidul Zahid) of the Department of Banking and Insurance, Professor Dr. Tariq Manzoor of the Department of Bengali, Professor Dr. SM Shamim Reza of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, and Sharmin Kabir of the Institute of Education and Research.

The returning officers will accomplish the election related tasks through discussion with the vice chancellor.

The numbers of returning officers has been increased to 10 from six to ensure a transparent and acceptable DUCSU election, the release said.
