Inquiry report on enforced disappearances to submit on Aug 24

DHAKA, June 24, 2025 (BSS) - The International Crimes Tribunal-1 (ICT) has 
set August 24 for submitting the investigation report on the crimes against 
humanity case, including enforced disappearances, murders, committed by Awami 
League (AL) during its 15-year regime.

A three-member ICT tribunal led by its Chairman Justice Md. Golam Mortuza 
Mozumder scheduled the date allowing a plea of the prosecution team.

Former Director General (DG) of National Telecommunication Monitoring Cell 
(NTMC) Ziaul Ahsan was produced to the tribunal today as the only arrested 
convict of the case. 

The tribunal has, so far, released the names of four accused in this case. 
Other three accused of the case are-- former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, 
her Security Affairs Adviser Major General (Retd.) Tarique Ahmed Siddique and 
former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed.
 
Prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim led the hearing on behalf of the prosecution. During 
the hearing, Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam and other prosecutors were 
present, among others.
