DHAKA, June 24, 2025 (BSS) - Education Adviser Professor Dr Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar today said that not only discussions but also effective steps with a specific timeframe are needed to reform the education sector.

Dr CR Abrar said there is no reason to think that the Education Commission will solve all the problems in the education sector. There are limitations in both time and resources, he added.

He urged everyone to cooperate from their respective positions.

He made the remark while addressing a discussion at the Professor Muzaffar Ahmed Chowdhury Auditorium of Dhaka University (DU).

DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan inaugurated the discussion titled 'Budget 2025-26: Education and Employment'.

Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan said, "The national budget impacts our lives in many ways. We have seen several good initiatives in the education sector in this year's national budget. Some changes have also been made in the science and technical education and employment sectors."

He expressed hope that this dialogue would play an effective role in formulating policies at the national level.

Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr Saima Haque Bidisha, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Professor Dr Taiyebur Rahman, and Director General of the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) Dr AK Enamul Haque spoke as special guests.
