Bangladesh, Algeria seek stronger ties in key sectors

DHAKA, June 24, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh and Algeria have discussed avenues to deepen bilateral cooperation in key economic sectors, including energy, industry, and pharmaceuticals, leveraging the complementary strengths of both countries.

The discussion took place during a bilateral meeting between Foreign Adviser Md Touhid Hossain and Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf on the sidelines of the 51st session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Istanbul on Sunday, said a press release disseminated by Algerian embassy here today. 

According to the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting served as a platform to explore new prospects for economic collaboration, particularly in areas where both countries have strategic and sectoral complementarities.

The two sides exchanged views on issues of mutual interest and expressed a shared commitment to enhancing economic diplomacy between Bangladesh and Algeria in the coming years.
