DHAKA, June 25, 2025 (BSS) - Water levels at 91 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise while 23
stations recorded fall.
Among the 119 monitored river stations, water levels at five stations have remained steady while no stations are flowing above the danger level, a bulletin issued by the FFWC said here today.
The water levels of all major rivers are flowing below the danger level, said the bulletin.
The water levels of the Surma-Kushiyara rivers are rising, which may continue for the next 2 days and remain stable for the following one day. Within the next 24 hours, the Kushiyara River in Sylhet district may flow near the warning level (close to the danger level). Moderate-heavy to heavy rainfall is likely in this basin over the next 01 day, followed by moderate to moderately heavy rainfall over the subsequent 2 days, it added.
The water levels of the Brahmaputra-Jamuna rivers are rising. This trend may continue for the next 5 days, though the rivers are expected to flow below the danger level.
The water levels of the Ganges and Padma rivers are rising. They may continue to rise over the next 5 days; however, both rivers are expected to flow below the danger level.
The water levels of the Teesta, Dharla, and Dudhkumar rivers are rising.
These rivers may begin to fall over the next one day and remain stable over the following 2 days. Moderate to moderately heavy rainfall is expected in this basin over the next 3 days.
