2-day arts and human studies int'l conference begins at RU

RAJSHAHI, June 25, 2025 (BSS)- A two-day international conference on 'Issues Around Pedagogy: Teaching-Learning Strategies in Arts & Humanities for the 21st Century' began at Rajshahi University (RU) today.

Being hosted by RU Faculty of Arts for the third consecutive time, Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Saleh Hassan Naquib inaugurated the conference at Senate Building with Dean of the faculty Prof Belal Hossain in the chair.

VC of Southeast University Prof Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, RU Pro-VCs Prof Mayeen Uddin and Prof Farid Uddin Khan, Emirate Prof of Malaysia International Islamic University Roznani Hashim and his colleague Prof Radwan Jamal Yousuf Al-Atrash also spoke at the opening ceremony. 
 
Prof Naquib said the importance of such a type of event is significant. New ideas and ways in terms of thinking are opened through integrated research.
 
Apart from this, new researchers are imbued as a result of interaction between researchers and academics from home and abroad besides opening up new doors of improved research.
 
"We are very much hopeful about desired yields from the conference," the VC added.
 
In the conference, 216 research papers in English, Bangla, Arabic, Persian and Urdu languages are scheduled to be presented in 36 sessions at nine venues.

More than 400 researchers, specialists and resource persons from 13 countries are taking part in the conference.
