Mixed teaching method crucial for modernizing higher education: BRUR VC

RANGPUR, June 25, 2025 (BSS) - Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) Vice -chancellor Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali has said the blended or mixed teaching system is crucial for modernizing higher education in the country's universities.
 
"In this teaching method, direct teaching and online education are 
coordinated in the classroom. This system will play an effective role in 
building the country's higher education more inclusive to ensure international standards," he said. 
 
He said this at a workshop titled "Innovating University Teaching through 
Blended Learning: Strategies, Tools and Practices for the Modern Classroom' held at the university's Virtual Classroom of Academic Bhaban-2 on Wednesday as the chief guest. 
 
The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of BRUR organised the 
workshop presided over by its Director Professor Dr Md Tajul Islam.
 
Dean of the School of Business of Khwaja Yunus Ali University, Bangladesh and its IQAC Director Dr Mostafa Mahmood Hasan presented the keynote paper on various topics including the application and strategy of 'mixed teaching method' in the workshop 
 
The Vice-chancellor said that in this age of information technology, a 
combined initiative of the government, university teachers and students of all stakeholders is needed for the successful implementation of the blended learning system. 
 
Teachers from different departments of Begum Rokeya University participated in the workshop. 
 
Additional Director of the IQAC of BRUR Dr Md Abdul Latif and Dr Md Abdur 
Rakib were also present at the workshop.
