LAKSHMIPUR, July 23, 2025 (BSS) - A man was killed and another injured in a road accident at Janakalyan intersection on the Lakshmipur-Majuchoudhurir Hat road in Sadar upazila here this afternoon.

The deceased was Rakib Hossain, 32, son of Adumia, resident of Ward No-15 in Lakshmipur municipality.

The accident took place when a pickup van collided head-on with a battery-run auto rickshaw, leaving auto rickshaw passenger Rakib dead on the spot and another injured critically, said Abdul Monnaf, Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station.

The injured was sent to Sadar Hospital. As his condition deteriorated, he was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
