DHAKA, Aug 11, 2025 (BSS) – On the occasion of National and International Youth Day 2025, a total of TK 47 crore 26 lakh 14 thousand youth loans will be disbursed tomorrow among 4,985 young recipients across the country.

As previous years, the National Youth Award will also be distributed to individuals selected on the basis of excellence in youth activities. Awards will be conferred at the national level for first, second, and third positions, as well as at the divisional level.

Special recognition will be given to youth from small ethnic minorities, transgender groups, and persons with special needs.

The inauguration ceremony of the National and International Youth Day will be held at 10:00 am at Hotel InterContinental in Dhaka, said a PID release.

The theme for this year is “Youth Advancing Multilateral Cooperation, Through Technology and Partnership.”

Following momentum of the post-July Mass Uprising, the Department of Youth Development is working to transform technology-driven youth power into human capital through skill-based training, self-employment loans, and engagement in voluntary and service-oriented activities.

Each year, approximately 200,000 youth are engaged in employment and self-employment through modern, science-based technical training and post-training financial and material support.

To convert youth potential into national assets, the Department of Youth Development is implementing freelancing training programs in all 64 districts, establishing eco-friendly biogas plants, and conducting mobile computer training in remote areas.

Under the EARN project, employment opportunities will be created for nine lakh unemployed youth who lack formal education or training.

In the past year, the Department of Youth Development has provided training to 271,719 youth aged between 18 and 35 in various trades.

Additionally, 1,076 youth have received training in traffic management and social awareness to assist law enforcement in restoring discipline on the roads.

To mark the day, commemorative publications including a souvenir, annual report, booklets featuring the achievements of National Youth Award recipients, brochures, and posters will be released.
