Top land ministry bureaucrat asks for transparency in service delivery

DHAKA, Aug 11, 2025 (BSS) – Land ministry’s senior secretary ASM Saleh Ahmed today asked officials within the purview of his office to make visible their activities in an understandable way to ensure transparency of their works, an official press release said.

“Transparency and easy accessibility of the people must be ensured in all land related services across the country,” he said while addressing a monthly coordination meeting at ministry conference room.

Ahmed, who chaired the meeting, discussed various projects of different departments and offices under the ministry alongside reviewing the problems related to the land management and their possible solutions.

The press release said the issue of Daria-i-Noor came up during the discussion but it made no elaboration of the discussion.

The meeting was informed a letter was issued for the formulation of the DPP for the 'Mymensingh Division Piloting of Government Leasable Water Reservoirs Reform and Excavation' project of the Land Reform Board.

The viva voce for recruitment of 1,115 people of the Land Records and Survey Department will end on August 13.

It was told that concerned officials told the meeting that 57,761 certified land records were opened so far in 16 out of 17 mouzas of Rajuk Purbachal, while pillar and standardization were completed in 27,587 mouzas.

Chairman of the Land Reforms Board AJM Shahabuddin, Chairman of the Land Appeal Board Dr Md Mahmud Hasan, Additional Secretary and senior officials were present at the meeting.
