Palestinian envoy pays courtesy call on Chief Justice

DHAKA, Aug 12, 2025 (BSS) - Palestinian Ambassador to Bangladesh Yousef S.Y. Ramadan today paid a courtesy call on Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed at the Supreme Court.

Supreme Court Public Relations Officer Md Shafiqul Islam said that during the meeting, they discussed in detail the development of bilateral relations and the judicial systems of both countries.

Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed highlighted the various steps taken to develop the judiciary of Bangladesh in the past year. In particular, the Chief Justice discussed plans to establish an independent and strong judiciary. In addition, he expressed the continued support of the people of Bangladesh for the State of Palestine and its people.

The Palestinian envoy highly appreciated the various steps taken by the Chief Justice for the development of the judiciary of Bangladesh, in particular, his declaration of the roadmap for judicial reform with the aim of establishing a strong, independent, and impartial judiciary.

Yousef S.Y. Ramadan expressed optimism that the strong leadership of the current Chief Justice of Bangladesh will play an important role in establishing good governance and ensuring justice in the country in the coming days.

The Palestinian ambassador also expressed gratitude for the unwavering support of the people of Bangladesh for his country.
