JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Sept 14, 2025 (BSS) - Jahangirnagar University (JU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan today congratulated the newly elected leaders of Jahangirnagar University Central Students' Union (JUCSU) and hall unions in the 2025 polls.

In a congratulatory message, the VC said the long-cherished aspiration for democracy, rekindled by the 2024 Mass Uprising, has been realized at JU through this historic JUCSU election, held after 33 years with direct student participation.

"The newly elected representatives will act as the symbol of students' hopes and aspirations," the VC added.

Prof Kamrul Ahsan also said the new leadership, bearing the spirit of 1971 and 2024, would play a vital role in advancing education and research, ensuring student welfare, and building a democratic, inclusive, and safe campus.

"The university administration will extend its full cooperation to all constructive initiatives," he assured.

Expressing optimism, Prof Ahsan urged the elected leaders to perform their duties with responsibility, honesty, and dedication, while upholding the values of education, culture, and integrity.

He called upon all to work together for a tolerant and progressive JU.

The VC also thanked and expressed gratitude to the Election Commission, all candidates, teachers, students, media representatives, law enforcement agencies, and all concerned for their contribution to successfully conducting the JUCSU polls.
