DHAKA, Nov 1, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi today warned that there would be no leniency for anyone committing crimes using the party's name.

He said, "No BNP activist or leader is involved in anti-social or anti-state activities. There will be no leniency for anyone committing such crimes using the BNP's name."

Rizvi made the remarks while speaking to journalists at the BNP's central office in Nayapaltan of the city.

He also urged the media to present truthful and objective reports, emphasizing that a single false story can create significant confusion and instability within the state and society.

The veteran BNP leader observed that it seems to have become a habit for some to blame the BNP whenever any incident occurs.

Referring to the recent incident at Raozan in Chattogram, Rizvi said, "Some terrorists were arrested with weapons in Raozan. Yet, a few media outlets claimed that these armed individuals were BNP members! It is regrettable to write such things without any evidence. In this very Raozan, organizational action has also been taken against many senior leaders on various allegations."

Mentioning the political struggle of the BNP, Rizvi said the party has been fighting for freedom from 15 years of oppression and injustice. This movement, he noted, reached its climax in the July Uprising.

He concluded by stating that it is the government's responsibility to ensure public safety. If the state fails in this duty, any kind of accident or social unrest could occur.
