Light to moderate rain/thunder showers likely in parts of country

DHAKA, Sept 20, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecast light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places across the country over the next 24 hours, beginning at 9:00 am today.

"Light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions," according to a bulletin issued by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) this morning.

"One or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions may witness the similar weather," it said with the anticipation of "moderately heavy falls at places over the country".
 
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the met office predicted.

It further said monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay. A Low pressure area is likely to form over North Bay and adjoining area around 24 September 2025.
 
On Friday, the highest temperature recorded was 36.2 degrees Celsius in Khulna, while today's lowest temperature was 24.4 degrees Celsius in Bandarban.

In Dhaka, the sun will set at 5:57 pm today and will rise at 5:47 am tomorrow.
