Adilur sees bright prospects of automobiles, agro-machinery, light engineering

DHAKA, Sept 20, 2025 (BSS) - Industries Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan today said that the automobile, agro-machinery and light engineering sectors have projected the possibilities and sustainability of the industries sector of the country.

"These sectors used to play vital roles in multi-dimensional expanding of country's export, generation of employment and overall development of the economy," he said this while inaugurating a two-day 'Automobile and Agro-machineries Fair-2025-Road to Made in Bangladesh' at Tejgaon area in the capital.

The adviser said that the confidence of the investors would be enhanced and new business doors would also be opened through this fair. 

The main objective of the country is to establish the 'Made in Bangladesh Brand' as a world standard symbol, he said, adding that for achieving this target, there must be flourishing of production oriented industries, transfer of technology, research and innovation and building of skilled manpower.

Secretary to the Industries Ministry Md Obaidur Rahman, while addressing as special guest, said the automobiles, agro-machineries and light engineering sectors have been playing a vital role in country's development. The ministry has been working relentlessly for building the country as industriously rich and making skilled human resources, he added.

Chaired by president of Bangladesh Chamber of Industries (BCI) Anwar-Ul-Alam Chowdhury Parvez, Managing Director of the SME Foundation Anwar Hossain Chowdhury, Dr M Abu Yusuf, agriculture-technology entrepreneurs Alumuzzaman Chowdhury and Abdur Razzak, were present at the function. 

Dr M Masrur Reaz presented the key note paper at the function.

The Industries Adviser visited different stalls of the fair and exchanged views with the entrepreneurs after inaugurating it.
