FSCD Hazmat team visits Mirpur fire site

DHAKA, Oct 15, 2025 (BSS) - A five-member Hazmat (chemical expert) team of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) visited the chemical warehouse today, a day after the depot caught fire at Sialbari in Mirpur in the capital.

Wearing protective chemical fire suits, the team entered the warehouse to identify the source of the smoke and take necessary safety measures accordingly, FSCD media officers told BSS.

At least 16 people have so far been killed in the fire that erupted in a RMG factory and a chemical warehouse in Sialbari, Rupnagar in Mirpur on Tuesday afternoon.
 
The bodies were sent to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
