Agricultural adviser meets FAO Director-General in Rome

DHAKA, Oct 17, 2025 (BSS) – Agriculture Adviser Lt. Gen. (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today held a bilateral meeting with Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Director-General Qu Dongyu at the DG’s office in Rome, Italy.

The adviser expressed his gratitude to FAO for its continued support to Bangladesh’s agricultural sector, said a press release received here.

He drew the Director-General’s attention to the need for enhanced cooperation in areas such as agricultural research for food security, production and marketing of export-oriented agricultural products, and digital agriculture.

The adviser thanked the Director-General for organizing the important World Food Forum and for inviting Bangladesh to participate in several dialogues and sessions associated with it.

The FAO Director-General expressed hope for working more closely with Bangladesh in the future.

Agriculture Secretary Dr. Mohammad Emdad Ullah Mian and members of both delegations were present at the meeting.
