Lalon festival will be observed nationally from now :Farooki

KUSHTIA, Oct 17, 2025 (BSS) – Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostafa Sarwar Farooki today said Lalon festival will be held nationally from now.
 
“Lalon is a bearer of our culture and civilization … if we see Lalon we can see Bangladesh, so, we have to bear Lalon in our spirit and heart”, he said.
 
He said this in a video message at the inaugural programme of three day discussion, cultural programme and Lalon fair organized nationally at Chewria of Kumarkhali here marking the 135th death anniversary of Fakir Lalon Shah. 
 
Farooki said Lalonis was one of great philosophers and thinkers of our country. The Lalon's death anniversary is being held for the first time nationally and it is matter of proud, he added.
 
Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter attended the function as the special guest while cultural affairs secretary Mafidur Rahman and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Director General Poet Rezauddin Stalin also attended the function.
