Police barracks for DMP's Diplomatic Security Division

DHAKA, Oct 18, 2025 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali inaugurated the police barracks for the "Diplomatic Security Division" and "Traffic Division" of Dhaka Metropolitan Police in a multi-storey building of Bangladesh Police in Purbachal New City Project in the capital.

He inaugurated this barracks for the accommodation of police members of the Diplomatic Security Division and Traffic Division in a ceremony at Purbachal, the capital this morning.

Arrangements have been made to accommodate about 700 police members of the Diplomatic Security Division and Traffic Division in the building. 

As a result, the accommodation problems of the DMP members have been somewhat eased.

After the inauguration, the DMP Commissioner inspected the new barracks of the police members on-site.

At that time, he said, the police members of the Diplomatic Security Division and Traffic Division will be able to stay in this barracks in a standard manner, which will boost their morale to ensure public safety and maintain law and order.

He called upon all to properly maintain this national asset. 

At the same time, the overall welfare of the police officers and force engaged in the service of the people will also be ensured, he said.

Additional Police Commissioner (Administration) Md. Sarwar, Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) SN Md. Nazrul Islam, Additional Police Commissioner (DB) Md. Shafiqul Islam, Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic) Md. Zillur Rahman and other senior officials of DMP were present at the event.
