RU commits to protecting its staff's individual beliefs, culture

RAJSHAHI, Nov 9, 2025 (BSS) - Rajshahi University (RU) authorities have said that they are committed to protecting the personal beliefs and culture of all staffs, including teachers, students, officers and employees.

A RU press release here today said, the authority thinks that all have the right to wear dresses compatible with their own beliefs and tradition.

If there is any complaint about abusive language, insulting remarks and harassment against anyone the victim has been advised to inform the university authority directly.   

The policy is equally applicable for the female students using hijab and niqab. The release, however, said the authority will maintain highest sensitivity if there is any need of ensuring the identity of any female student. In this context, if necessary, assistance of female teachers will be received.

The RU authority sought cooperation of all concerned in this regard, the release added.
