DHAKA, Nov 28, 2025 (BSS) - A special 'Doa Mahfi'l (prayers) was held at the BNP central office at Nayapaltan in the city today for the speedy recovery of party chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, who is currently admitted at the Evercare Hospital.

The BNP organized the prayers after the Jummah prayers. Leaders and activists from various levels of the party participated in the prayers.

Following the 'Doa Mahfil', BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told journalists that Begum Khaleda Zia has struggled for the people and endured imprisonment to establish democracy. She is currently admitted to the hospital due to illness, he added.

"Last night, the doctors said that her physical condition is extremely critical. Therefore, on behalf of our party, we have sought prayers from the people across the country after Jummah prayers for the recovery of the Mother of Democracy, Begum Khaleda Zia. We pray that she may recover and return to the people to get the opportunity to work for the country," added Fakhrul.
