RU launches healthcare services for pet animals

RAJSHAHI, Dec 2, 2025 (BSS)- Rajshahi University (RU) has launched "Veterinary Teaching Hospital and Research Centre" for pet and domestic animals for the first time.

The Veterinary and Animal Sciences Faculty and the Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences will jointly provide healthcare services to the pet animals free of cost through the center which was established adjacent to the Agriculture Faculty Building.

Side by side with practical teaching to the students, the centre will provide veterinary healthcare services from 9am to 4pm from Sunday to Thursday.

Talking to BSS, Dr Hemayetul Islam, Director of the centre, said they will provide healthcare services to most of the domestic and pet animals, including cattle, goat, poultry birds, dogs and cats, free of cost uninterruptedly.

He also said the hospital will benefit students, farmers and the public in general.
