RU suspends 3 teachers, punishes 5 students

RAJSHAHI, Dec 4, 2025 (BSS) - Rajshahi University (RU) authorities suspended three of its teachers and taken disciplinary action against five students.

The decisions were taken at the 544th meeting of the RU syndicate, held on December 2 with Vice-Chancellor Prof Saleh Hassan Naqib presiding, said a RU press release last night. 

The university suspended Associate Professor Dr Anik Krishna Karmaker of the Department of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering for three years and barred him from all examination-related duties for ten years. 

Professor Probhash Kumar Karmaker of the Department of Statistics and Associate Professor Muhammad Hedayet Ullah of the Department of Finance have been dismissed from service.

In separate decisions, two students had their student status revoked, one was expelled permanently and two others were suspended for one year.

The decisions take effect from the date of the syndicate meeting, the release said.
