Students should focus on acquiring real knowledge: Touhid

RANGPUR, Dec 7, 2025 (BSS) - Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain today urged students to focus on acquiring real knowledge instead of studying just to pass, as there is no alternative to knowledge-based quality education to build a better future.
 
“In addition, students should be encouraged to participate in sports, culture and mental development activities,” he said.
 
He said this while addressing a view-exchange meeting with teachers, students and local elite at the Magura High School premises in Kishoreganj Upazila of Nilphamari on Sunday as the chief guest.
 
Magura High School organized the event chaired by its Headmaster Md Abdul Kuddus. 
 
Nilphamari Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Nairuzzaman, Nilphamari Police Superintendent AFM Tariq Hossain Khan, former Assistant Headmaster Kshitish Chandra Roy, former student Md Mohiuddin Azad spoke guest speeches at the event, 
 
Regarding women's education, the Foreign Affairs Adviser said that the most significant progress has been made in women's education in the last six decades. 
 
“That is why women are leaving a mark of success in every field of the country today,” he said
 
Addressing the teachers, he said that only increasing the pass rate should not be the aim of education in educational institutions.
 
“For ensuring quality education, teachers should provide proper education to students out of a sense of responsibility,” he said. 
 
He urged the parents to be careful that their children do not go astray. It is important to regularly monitor how much time they are spending on each task. 
 
He mentioned that spending time with children is also very important to eliminate the feeling of loneliness among them. 
 
Regarding human resource development, the Foreign Affairs Adviser said that every citizen must be turned into a skilled human resource for the overall development of the country. 
 
“The demand for skilled workers abroad is increasing. To utilize this opportunity, those who want to go abroad should give importance to acquiring language and professional skills roe earn more,” he said. 
 
Teachers, students, guardians, civil society members, local elite and journalists were present at the event.
