Traffic rule violations: 1,955 cases filed

DHAKA, Dec 15, 2025 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan 
Police (DMP) has filed 1,955 cases against motor vehicles and its drivers for 
violating traffic rules in a single day across the capital.

A media release of the DMP today said that they filed those cases and 
realized the money on Sunday (December 14) through their regular drives 
against the traffic rule breakers.

A total of 360 motor vehicles were dumped and 200 vehicles were towed due to 
poor driving practices, said Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media and 
Public Relations Division) of the DMP.

According to the DMP sources, the highest number of cases were filed in 
Motijheel (316), followed by Wari (142), Tejgaon (221), Mirpur (211), Gulshan 
(369), Uttara (398), Ramna (150), and Lalbagh (148).

"The drives will continue to ensure discipline on the city streets," the 
release said, adding that the DMP has been working to bring the traffic 
system under smooth in the capital for giving city dwellers easy movement.
