RAJSHAHI, Jan 1, 2026 (BSS)- Primary and secondary level students have started getting new books since the initial day of the New Year.
The students were very happy after getting new books on the first day of the year.

AKM Anwar Hossain, District Primary Education Officer, told BSS that required numbers of books were sent to all the government and registered schools in the district for distribution among the students timely.
 
He said the present government has been distributing free books to the school students aimed at ensuring education for all to free the nation from the curse of illiteracy.
 
“We have already received 11,60,830 books for distribution among students in 1,059 schools in the district,” said Anwar Hossain.
He also said there is no crisis regarding primary-level textbooks this year. “We have received 100 percent of the books according to our demand. This year, students have started getting new books on the very first day of the year.”
 
District Education Officer Zayedur Rahman said they have, so far, received 9,78,675 books for the students from class six to nine. Another 1,93,300 books were also reached here for the SSS vocational students and 6,36,171 books for the Dakhil and Ebtedayee students.
