DHAKA, Jan 5, 2026 (BSS) - A mild cold wave is sweeping over Rajshahi division and the districts of Dinajpur, Jashore, Chuadanga and Kushtia and it may continue, while the overall weather across the country is likely to remain dry, according to a weather outlook.

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) this morning made the forecast for the next 24 hours, beginning from 9:00 am.

It said that the weather is expected to remain dry with a temporarily partly cloudy sky over the country.

Besides, moderate to thick fog may occur over different parts of the country from midnight to morning and, at places, the fog may persist until noon.

Due to thick fog, air navigation, inland river transport and road communication may face temporary disruptions, the forecast said.

It added that night and day temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country. However, owing to the prevailing foggy conditions, cold feelings may continue across the country.

On Sunday, Teknaf recorded the highest temperature at 26.7 degrees Celsius, while Ishurdi registered the lowest at 08.4 degrees Celsius today.

In Dhaka, sunset will be at 5:25 pm today and sunrise at 6:43 am tomorrow.
