Application process for MPO registration of new educational institutions begin

DHAKA, Jan 14, 2026 (BSS) - Online application process for MPO registration of private educational institutions (schools and colleges) has started across the country. 

The application process started at 10 am today and applications will be accepted until January 25, said Syed AZ Morshed Ali, Deputy Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education.

He said that the pilot application process started after 12 midnight on Tuesday. Authorities of various educational institutions aspiring for MPO in the country can apply from 10 am today, he added.

He said that this application process is being conducted to enroll new institutions in MPO in the fiscal year 2025-26 in light of the Manpower Structure and MPO Policy-2025. 

Meanwhile, a notification published on the website of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education on Wednesday said that the application process for MPO enrollment will start from today and continue until January 25.

Earlier, in a public notice, issued by the Secondary and Higher Education Division on January 7, interested educational institutions were asked to apply through the Online MPO Application link on the website of the Secondary and Higher Education Division (www.shed.gov.bd), the website of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (www.dshe.gov.bd) or the website of Banbeis (www.banbeis.gov.bd).

The notice further stated that the entire process of MPO registration of institutions will be completed digitally.

A list of eligible institutions will be prepared by verifying and selecting the criteria set through the software.

According to the notice, no application will be accepted directly (hardcopy), via e-mail or letter. 

The application must be completed by following the instructions through the online link only. 

The government reserves the full authority to take any decision in accepting the application. 

The opportunity to apply will continue until 11:59 pm on January 25, the deputy secretary said.
