Annual art exhibition of DU Craft department begins

DHAKA, Jan 15, 2026 (BSS)- The annual art exhibition of students of the Department of Craft under the Faculty of Fine Art of the University of Dhaka (DU) was inaugurated today.

The inauguration ceremony was held at the Osman Jamal Auditorium of the Faculty of Fine Art. 

A total of 130 artworks are being displayed at the exhibition, including award-winning works from the 2024 and 2025 academic sessions as well as works by current students. 

The exhibition highlights the aesthetics, heritage and creative expression of craft art.

DU Proctor Professor Saifuddin Ahmed inaugurated the exhibition as the chief guest. 

Professor Anupam Huda and Professor Md Faruk Ahmed Mollah were present at the event as special guests with Chairman of the Department Md Jahangir Hossain presided over the programme.

The exhibition will continue to January 20 at the Zainul Gallery of the Faculty of Fine Art and will remain open to visitors daily from 10 am to 8 pm.
