
DHAKA, Jan 15, 2026 (BSS) – The Deposit Insurance Department of Bangladesh Bank (BB) organized a comprehensive two-day training workshop from Wednesday titled “Preparation of Deposit Insurance Premium Determination Statement”.
The event aimed to enhance the technical capacity of scheduled banks in managing deposit insurance protocols, said a press release.
The workshop saw significant participation, with 122 officers from 61 scheduled banks operating across the country.
Kakoli Jahan Ahmed, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, graced the occasion as the chief guest and officially inaugurated the program.
During her opening remarks, she shared vital information regarding the current Deposit Insurance System in Bangladesh.
Md. Selim Ahmed, Director of the Deposit Insurance Department, presided over the sessions.
He emphasized the fundamental necessity of accurate and complete data or information to ensure the protection of depositors' interests within the national banking sector.
The technical sessions were conducted by a team of senior officials, including Additional Director Nure Asma Nadia, and Joint Directors Amina Akter and Tania Sultana.
A key highlight of the workshop was the detailed analysis of the “Deposit Protection Ordinance, 2025,” along with in-depth discussions on the meticulous preparation of deposit insurance-related data.
The program concluded with an interactive Q&A session, allowing participating bank officers to clarify technical nuances and share practical insights regarding the implementation of the new ordinance and premium determination processes.
