Tarique Rahman to address rally at his Dhaka-17 constituency today

DHAKA, Jan 23, 2026 (BSS) - BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman will address an election rally today at Dhaka-17 constituency ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliament polls and referendum slated for February 12.

The public meeting will commence at 6 PM. This rally, organized in support of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, will be held at the BRB field in Vasantek of the city. 

Organizers have expressed hope that the public meeting will successfully conclude with the spontaneous attendance of people from all walks of life at the newly scheduled time.

Earlier, campaign activities in support of BNP-nominated candidate Tarique Rahman in the Dhaka-17 constituency began yesterday (Thursday). Campaigners are going door-to-door, making various promises and seeking votes for the 'Sheaf of Paddy' symbol.

Meanwhile, Tarique Rahman, the BNP-nominated candidate for Dhaka-17 constituency, returned to the capital in the early hours of today (Friday) after concluding rallies in seven districts as part of the election campaign that started from Sylhet yesterday.

Abdus Salam, advisor to the BNP Chairperson and chief coordinator of Tarique Rahman's election steering committee, said, "We believe that today's rally in Dhaka, like yesterday's, will witness a massive public gathering. A successful public meeting will be held in Vasantek with Tarique Rahman's presence."
