COX'S BAZAR, Jan 23, 2026 (BSS) - BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed today assured salt workers of resolving existing problems in the country’s salt industry once BNP is voted to power through the upcoming general elections.

He made the assurance during his surprise visit to a salt field located in Magnama Launch ghat area of Pekua upazila here this morning.

Salahuddin is BNP's nominated candidate for Cox's Bazar-1 (Chakaria-Pekua) constituency. He met the salt workers at the beginning of the second day of his election campaign.

After exchanging pleasantries with salt workers, he also took selfies with them.

Addressing the salt workers engaged in the salt fields, he said, "During the BNP's tenure, we ensured a fair price of salt. If the BNP forms the government in the future, a fair price will be ensured again.”

Seeking votes on his own symbol, the BNP leader said nobody except BNP ensures the welfare of the people.

“If BNP comes to power, it will work in the interest of salt farmers. It will also work in the interest of farmers, the country and its people,” he said, asking all to vote for sheaf of paddy.

Salahuddin later held a rally in Surajpur-Manikpur in Chakaria.
