19 more dengue patients hospitalized in last 24 hours

DHAKA, Jan 27, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 19 dengue patients were admitted at 
different hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours while no death 
was reported during the period.

The Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) and Control Room, under the 
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) or the Ministry of Health 
revealed the information in a press release here today.

According to the release, among the newly-admitted patients, two were 
hospitalized in Barishal division (outside of the city corporation area), 
five in Chattogram division, two in Dhaka North City Corporation area, five 
were admitted in Dhaka South City Corporation area, one in Khulna division 
(outside of the city corporation area), two are in Mymensingh division 
(outside of the city corporation area) and two are in Rajshahi division 
(outside of the city corporation area) in the last 24 hours.

During the same period, 24 dengue patients were discharged from different 
hospital across the country. With this, the total number of dengue patients 
discharged from hospitals this year rose to 880.

In the current year, so far, a total of 1,000 dengue cases have been 
reported, of which 63.2 percent are male and 36.8 percent are female. Two 
dengue-related deaths have been reported this year.

Last year, a total of 1,02,861 dengue cases were reported, with 413 deaths 
and in 2024, dengue infected 1,01,214 people and claimed 575 lives during 
this time.
