DHAKA, Feb 7, 2026 (BSS) - Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs Adviser Sharmeen S. Murshid today said the government wants to develop the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) as a model for the development of the agricultural community.

The adviser made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a press conference titled "Achievements in the Management, Reform and Governance of the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh", held at the boardroom of the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh at Farmgate here organized by the Ministry of Social Welfare.
KIB Administrator Lt. Colonel Md. Abdur Rob Khan (retd) and agriculturist Anwarun Nabi Mazumdar Babla were present, among others, at the press conference.
The adviser said to free KIB from the long-standing effects of mismanagement, corruption, and nepotism, and to develop it into an efficient and representative professional organization, a competent administrator was appointed.
She said subsequently, under the guidance of the Ministry of Social Welfare, extensive reform activities were initiated. As part of this process, an "Interim Advisory Committee" was formed on January 4 with the participation of all stakeholders, which has injected new momentum into the institution's activities, she said.
