DHAKA, Feb 7, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's women wing today brought out an electoral procession in support of the party's Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman in Dhaka-15 constituency.

The rally, which began at 10:30am from the Falpatti intersection in Mirpur-10, proceeded through Gol Chattar and concluded with a brief gathering at Kazipara.

Leaders from the Dhaka North Women's Wing addressed the participants, urging voters to support Dr. Rahman and cast their ballots for the 'scales' symbol. They also condemned the recent violence against women across the country.

Jamaat central working committee member Irani Akter said, "Welfare can be achieved by ensuring a safe life and establishing a fair, equitable society." She expressed confidence that Dr. Shafiqur Rahman would bring about positive change and address the nation's challenges.

Akter also highlighted that the safety, liberation, and rights of women could only be secured through a just society. She called on all voters, particularly women, to vote in favor of justice and equity.

The rally saw a large participation of women who chanted slogans in support of Dr. Rahman. Mubarak Hossain, a central executive committee member, thanked the participants for their support and reiterated the importance of electing leaders committed to justice.

The women's leaders also stressed Dr. Rahman's promise to create a humane Bangladesh and expressed hope that his election would lead to a just and prosperous nation. Besides, the women leaders urged the voters to support Jamaat and their allies in the 11-party alliance across the country.
