DHAKA, Mar 25, 2026 (BSS)- Prof. Dr. Kawashima Hiroto of Shibaura Institute of Technology of Japan paid a courtesy call on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A B M Obaidul Islam today at the latter’s office. 

A Dhaka University press release said the meeting discussed the possibilities of strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programs between the two universities.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Obaidul Islam stressed the need for expansion of joint collaborative academic and research programs on air pollution, environment and climate change with renowned universities around the world.

Besides, he expressed his willingness to undertake more joint collaborative research programs with different universities across the world to upgrade education and research.

Dean of the Faculty of Science of DU Prof Dr. Abdus Salam was present.
