RAJSHAHI, April 15, 2026 (BSS) - Rajshahi University (RU) authorities, with technical support from the ICT Centre have launched a high-speed 5G free Wi-Fi service on campus today.

The initiative is part of the first phase of expanding free and fast internet connectivity in various public spaces, including the central library and the cafeteria.

RU sources said the service has already been introduced in the Souvenir Shop area at the university's Paribahan Market and in the central cafeteria.

The Wi-Fi network will appear as "RU WiFi 5G" on any compatible 5G-enabled device, including smartphones, tablets and laptops.

Students, teachers, officers and staff with valid internet IDs can access the service 24 hours a day, seven days a week, using their username and password.

However, officials noted that devices without 5G Wi-Fi support will not be able to detect the "RU WiFi 5G" network.
