21 more hospitalised with dengue

DHAKA, April 28, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 21 more dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the past 24 hours, while no deaths were reported during the period.

"Among the newly hospitalised patients, eight were reported from Barishal division, four from Chattogram division, four from Dhaka division (outside city corporations), one from Dhaka North City Corporation, three from Dhaka South City Corporation, and one from Khulna division," said a press release issued today by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

During the same period, 19 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals. With this, a total of 2,327 patients have recovered and been released from hospitals so far this year.

The total number of dengue cases recorded this year has reached 2,449, of which 62.7 percent are male and 37.3 percent female. So far, four deaths from the mosquito-borne disease have been reported in 2026.

According to official data, a total of 102,861 dengue cases and 413 deaths were recorded in 2025, while in 2024, the number of cases stood at 101,214 with 575 fatalities.
