249 absent in SSC Bangladesh and Global Studies exam under Jashore Board

KHULNA, May 5, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 249 examinees remained absent in the 
Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination in the Bangladesh and Global 
Studies subject under the Jashore Education Board today.

The examination was held peacefully in a copying-free environment from 10 am 
to 1 pm at 299 centres across 10 districts of Khulna division.

According to Board Controller of Examinations Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Matin, out 
of 36,252 registered candidates, 36,003 appeared in the examination while 249 
remained absent.

He said in Khulna district, 6,121 students attended the examination while 31 
were absent. In Bagerhat, 2,557 students appeared and 19 were absent, while 
in Satkhira, 3,462 students attended and 20 were absent.

In Kushtia district, 8,136 candidates took part in the examination with 67 
absentees, while in Chuadanga, 2,317 students appeared and nine were absent.

In Meherpur, 1,446 students attended the examination while 25 were absent. In 
Jashore district, 5,640 students took part with 35 absentees.

Besides, 1,359 candidates appeared in Narail district with 10 absentees, 
while in Magura, 1,706 students attended the examination and 10 remained 
absent, he added.
