DHAKA, July 9, 2026 (BSS) - Due to heavy rainfall, landslides may occur at places over the hilly regions of Chattogram division, according to Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

Under the influence of active monsoon, heavy (44 - 88mm/ 24hours) to very heavy (> 88mm/ 24hours) rainfall is likely to occur at places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions during next 48 hours commencing from 06 am today, said a heavy rainfall warning issued by met office this morning.

It also said due to heavy to very heavy rainfall temporary waterlogging may occur at places over Dhaka and Chattogram metropolitan areas and landslide may occur at places over the hilly regions of Chattogram division.
