Rain likely across country in next 24hrs

DHAKA, July 21, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecast light to

moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds across the country over the

next 24 hours, beginning at 9:00 am.

According to a Met Office bulletin issued this morning, light to moderate rain or thundershowers

are likely at most places over Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at many places over Rangpur,

Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna and Sylhet divisions.

The bulletin also said moderately heavy to heavy rainfall may occur at places across the country.

Day temperature may rise slightly, while night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the

country.

The country's highest temperature on Monday was recorded at 32.6 degrees Celsius in Jashore,

while today's minimum temperature was 22 degrees Celsius in Sylhet.

During the last 24 hours until 6:00 am today, the highest rainfall of 101 millimetres was

recorded in Mongla.

The sun will set at 6:47 pm today and rise at 5:23 am tomorrow in the capital.
