RAJSHAHI, July 27, 2026 (BSS)- The 30th anniversary of the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology of Rajshahi University (RU) was celebrated today through various programs and events.
 
Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Abdul Alim attended the program as the chief guest, and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor Mamunur Rashid and Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences Professor Golam Mortuza as special guests.
 
A colorful rally started in front of the Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose Academic Building and paraded around the campus for the purpose.

The rally was attended by the Pro-Vice Chancellors, the Chairman of the department, teachers, students, officers, employees and other concerned persons. 

The anniversary main program was held at the department at 10:30 am.

At the event, the guests inaugurated the program by cutting a cake. After that, a discussion meeting was held, presided over by the Chairman of the department, Professor Md. Ashadul Islam.

The event was attended by the Administrator of the Public Relations Office, Professor S. M. Kamruzzaman, along with former and current teachers, students, officers, employees and other concerned persons of the department.
