DHAKA, July 28, 2026 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan 
Police (DMP) has filed 2,028 cases against traffic law violators during the 
last two days in the capital.

The DMP issued a press release here today saying that a total of 534 vehicles 
were dumped and 211 vehicles were towed during the drives.
 
The traffic division conducted drives on Monday (July 27) in different areas 
of the capital, it said.

According to the release, the Traffic-Ramna Division filed 154 cases 
involving nine buses, three trucks, four covered vans, nine CNG-run auto-
rickshaws and 50 motorcycles while Traffic-Lalbagh Division filed 220 cases, 
including 28 buses, nine trucks, two covered vans, 22 CNG-run auto-rickshaws 
and 125 motorcycles.

In addition, Traffic-Motijheel Division lodged 313 cases involving 28 buses, 
three trucks, 14 covered vans, 75 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 122 motorcycles 
while the Traffic-Wari Division filed 294 cases involving 43 buses, 41 
trucks, 28 covered vans, 38 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 73 motorcycles, it 
said.

Meanwhile, the Traffic-Tejgaon Division filed 287 cases involving 22 buses, 
two trucks, 14 covered vans, 44 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 143 motorcycles 
while the Traffic-Mirpur Division lodged 351 cases involving 18 buses, 20 
trucks, 27 covered vans, 26 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 198 motorcycles.

Meanwhile, the Traffic-Uttara Division filed 274 cases involving 71 buses, 
one truck, 11 covered vans, 36 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 60 motorcycles 
while the Traffic-Gulshan Division lodged 187 cases involving 22 buses, one 
truck, seven covered vans, 25 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 68 motorcycles.

The DMP said its Traffic Division will continue such drives to maintain 
traffic discipline across the Dhaka metropolitan area.
