CHITTAGONG UNIVERSITY, July 31, 2026 (BSS) - A 'July Memorial' will be constructed on Chittagong University (CU) campus in memory of the martyrs of the 2024 July Uprising.

CU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Al-Forkan disclosed the information to BSS at around 9:00 pm today.

"We have decided to construct a 'July Memorial' on the CU campus in memory of the July martyrs. We will start the work soon," he said.

Two students of the History Department at Chittagong University were martyred during the July mass uprising of 2024. They were Shaheed Hridoy Chandra Tarua and Shaheed Farhad Hossain.

Besides, Mohammad Shuvo Hossain, a student of the Bangla Department at the university, lost the sight of his right eye after being shot during the July mass uprising.
