DHAKA, Aug 24, 2026 (BSS) - Five more children died of suspected measles across the country in the past 24 hours, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) control room here today.
It said five children died of suspected measles in the past 24 hours, while a total of 839 children have died of suspected measles since March 15.
No one died of confirmed measles in the past 24 hours, while 99 people have died of confirmed measles since March 15.
It said 1,149 suspected measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours, while the number of suspected measles cases stood at 150,652 from March 15 to August 24.
The number of confirmed measles cases in the past 24 hours was 83, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 18,487 since March 15.
From March 15 to August 24, a total of 131,664 people with suspected measles were admitted to hospitals. During the same period, 126,921 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.
