DHAKA, Jan 2, 2025 (BSS)- President of the Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon today demanded withdrawal of the false cases against former Chief Justice SK Sinha and take initiative to bring him back to the country.

The Supreme Court Bar President raised the demand to the government while briefing newsmen at the Supreme Court premises.

The previous Awami League government forced to resign him from the position of the Chief Justice and leave the country, the Bar President said adding that even he was awarded punishment in false cases.

Barrister Khokon also demanded investigation against those persons who were involved with the group which forced Sinha to leave the country.

SCBA president also demanded bringing back home former District and Sessions Judge of Dhaka Motahar Hossain, who acquitted BNP acting Chairman Tarique Rahman from the charge of a money laundering case.

After pronouncing the judgment of the case, he was bound to leave the country amid mounting pressure from the then Awami League government.
