Amir Khosru recalls contributions of late BNP leader Ishaque

CHATTOGRAM, Jan 2, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury said that BNP leader late Ishaque Chowdhury was a dedicated and workers-friendly leader who had played an important role in the pro-democracy and anti-fascist movement during last 15 years.

Recalling his contributions to strengthening party in his areas and motivating general masses to participate in the party activities, Amir Khosru said he always responded positively for solving any problems of workers as well as raised his voice to mitigate the sufferings of common people.

He was addressing as the chief guest at a memorial meeting in observance of 3rd death anniversary of former city unit BNP assistant general secretary late Ishaque Chowdhury. The meeting held at Char Chaktai School field this morning with Ward BNP leader Yakub Chowdhury Nazim in the chair.

Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury said late Ishaque Chowdhury was tortured a lot during fascist AL rule for his participation in the democratic movement as well as party activities.

But he (Ishaque ) had never gave up and turned back from the movement for freeing Begum Khaleda Zia in the face of various mental and physical torture during last 15 years.

Former city BNP general secretary Abul Hashem Bakkar, central BNP leader Shamsul Alam, city unit joint convenor Yeasin Chowdhury Liton, former ward commissioner Yeasin Chowdhury Ashu, Prof. Nurul Alam Raju, Kamrul Islam and Haji Nurul Akte, among others, addressed the meeting.
