DHAKA, April 6, 2025 (BSS) – The Criminal Investigation Department
(CID) has unraveled the identity of a woman murdered in Manikganj two
days back.

The deceased was identified as Beauty Goswami (38), a resident of
Uttar Dalgram under Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat district, said a CID
press release.

Earlier on April 4, police recovered a decomposed body of the woman
wrapped with polythene in a carton inside a bamboo grove under Putail
Union under Sadar Police Station of Manikganj district.

Due to decomposition and swelling, the face was deformed and swollen
to such an extent that no one could identify the woman. Mystery shrouded
the death of the unidentified body, the release said.

The CID finally revealed the identity of the young woman through using
advanced biometric technology VFAN (VeriFinger Automated Name).

As part of the investigation, the CID first compared the fingerprints on the
digital device with the national identity card database, but no match was
found, it said.
